Heat Engineer is based on recognised UK heating design standards and guidance, including:

- CIBSE Domestic Heating Design Guide – guidance for domestic heating system design
- MCS MIS 3005-D – requirements for heat pump system design
The software supports detailed room-by-room heat-loss calculations, including transmission, ventilation and infiltration losses, thermal bridging and the overall building heat load. Its methodology is aligned with BS EN 12831-1:2017 and the MCS heat-load calculation methodology, providing a robust basis for heating system and heat pump sizing.
Please note: Sayers Design is not MCS registered. Our calculations are produced using recognised software and methodologies that support MCS-compliant design. Where an MCS-certified installation or design is required, the completed calculation and final system selection should be reviewed and approved by the appropriately MCS-certified contractor or designer.
